To clarify the QOTD move...
I'm trying to streamline my online presence, and I just don't use Vox*. I've reluctantly moved to Twitter because the handful of people I really, really missed communicating with when Pownce dissolved moved (or remained on?) primarily to Twitter.
Topixz isn't flushed out enough for me yet (not to mention the lack of the awesome Pownce UI), there's a weird, creepy option called Schmownce that I'm not going to sign up for because it just seems too creepy and obtuse, Soup.io is not quite right, the Ning site is just too much to follow and Plurk just doesn't have anybody on it. I doubt I'm going to find another place that fits me as well as Pownce.
QOTD doesn't work on my personal blog and my Facebook is not for "social networking" - thus leaving Twitter. The beauty of the QOTD when I decided to do it was to have it be something quick a person could answer, yet giving everyone a bit of insight into that person. I hope to return to that quick format in this move to Twitter. Believe me, I didn't want to go on Twitter - but that's where the people moved to.
I'm sorry if you don't like my decision. :-(

* - I used to use something exactly like Vox: LiveJournal. I stopped using it when I started my own blog because I grew tired of it. I don't need another one, sadly.

I agree with you. Vox is more of a LJ Replacement than a Pownce Replacement. So much so that most of the stuff I post here I post on LJ. My LJ friends list is a ghost town. I like the community blogging thing and thats why I don't choose to create a blog on my site.
I'm really overwelmed with all the choices of "Pownce alternatives". None right now match up and its really confusing to figure out who is where and how each one works. I do however like the fact that atleast for now there is temporary housing for everyone.
QOTD needs a thriving quickpaced atmosphere and twitter has that so it makes sense. Twitter is something I update every so often but I've thought about getting in to a routine of checking it once a day, right now I check it once a week or less and now I might have more of a reason to try.
Well, except for Pownce.
Early on, I had questions like "coke or pepsi" or "favorite pizza topping" which could be answered quickly. Like I said, it's an experiment. :)
I'm becoming to realize that Pownce was lightning caught in a bottle - something we may never see again.
